I start my Palm Springs Village Fest season, http://www.VillageFest.org , in nine days. Life around here is a flurry of finish work, plus the usual spin-dye-crochet routine. Today has been sock yarn dye day. 80% superwash Merino wool / 20% Tussah silk, this is my favorite sock yarn, that works for any of your fingering weight yarn projects. The process in pictures!
Living in a desert, I’m aware of my water usage. With California’s drought, I’m super-hyper-mega aware! I’ll re-use as much water as I can. I have dedicated tubs for pre-dye soak and finish rinse, and, of course, dye pans. I’ll continue to add just enough water to use, rather than run all new water.
